Marine
Telescoping Boat Hook Pole (5–12 ft) — Aluminum Floating Dock Pole, 20 ft Reach
Product description
Adjustable reach and safe operation: This telescoping boat hook stretches from 5 ft when collapsed to 12 ft when extended, providing up to a 20 ft working reach for grabbing cleats, lines, or reaching pilings without leaning overboard. It’s intended to help with docking, mooring and retrieving items from a safe position.
Durable, lightweight construction: The pole is made from thickened aluminum for strength without excessive weight and resists corrosion in marine environments. Foam inserts are built into the shaft so the pole will float if it goes overboard, simplifying recovery and reducing the risk of losing it.
Hook head and performance: The head is molded from reinforced nylon and features a smooth, blunt-tip profile to avoid scratching hulls or gelcoat. It’s engineered to withstand significant pushing and pulling forces, so it won’t readily snap under tension when hauling lines or fending off a dock.
Secure operation and grip: An internal locking mechanism keeps the sections in place under load so the pole won’t collapse while pushing or pulling. The handle has an ergonomic, non-slip texture to maintain grip even when wet or wearing gloves, improving control and leverage.
Versatile thread adapter: The pole comes fitted with the nylon hook and accepts standard 3/4" threaded accessories, allowing you to swap the head for tools such as rollers, squeegees or dusters. Includes: one telescoping pole with foam flotation and attached nylon hook, ready for docking and general upkeep tasks.
Pros
- Floats if dropped
- Strong aluminum shaft
- Universal 3/4" thread
Cons
- Hook head limited to nylon accessories
- May be long for tight storage
- Lock requires firm seating
VerdictA practical, well-built extendable pole for docking and line handling. The thick aluminum shaft resists bending and the foam core keeps it afloat if dropped. The blunt nylon hook is gentle on gelcoat while handling high tension, and the internal lock plus textured handle deliver reliable control. Its 3/4" universal thread expands usefulness with common accessories.
