Beekeeping
Ventilated 3-Layer Beekeeping Jacket with Detachable Veil & Gloves (X-Large)
Product description
What you get: one ventilated beekeeping jacket in the selected size and a matching set of gloves. The hood is constructed in a fencing-style mesh and can be detached from the jacket when not required.
Construction and materials: the jacket uses a three-layer ventilated fabric—an outer mesh, a thin foam spacer, and an inner mesh layer—that creates separation between your skin and the outer surface, helping block stings while allowing airflow. Reinforced brass zippers run the length of the jacket for secure closure, and elastic thumb straps keep sleeves in place during work.
Fit and sizes: available in standard sizes; this listing is for the X-Large. The cut is roomy enough to layer a sweatshirt or hoodie underneath for cooler weather yet not so bulky that it restricts movement. Waist and cuff elastics help maintain a snug seal around the body and limbs.
Hood and visibility: the fencing-style veil is made from stiff, airy mesh that preserves sightlines and prevents the material from collapsing onto your face. Because the hood unhooks, you can replace it or remove it for transport without taking off the jacket.
Use and care: intended for regular apiary tasks—inspections, honey extraction, and general hive maintenance. The ventilated structure is optimized for warm-weather use; in cold months you can layer under the jacket or switch to heavier outerwear. Close zippers and use thumb straps to minimize gaps where bees might enter. Follow garment care instructions to preserve the mesh and zipper hardware.
Pros
- Lightweight, breathable three-layer construction
- Detachable fencing veil for clear sightlines
- Sturdy brass zippers and thumb straps for a secure fit
Cons
- Gloves are not vented
- Metal zipper may need occasional lubrication
- Veil can crease during shipment and may need reshaping
VerdictA reliable choice for hobbyists and pros who need full coverage without overheating. The three-layer vented construction keeps air moving while the detachable mesh hood gives wide visibility. Durable brass zippers and thumb straps help keep the suit sealed during active work. Sizing runs true and the included gloves and hood make this a ready-to-use outfit for most hive tasks.

Well-made and worth the upgrade
Out of the box the build quality is obvious. After getting stung through a cheap suit I invested in this and have been pleased. It works reliably and feels like a durable, well-constructed piece—definitely a worthwhile buy for safer hive work.

Perfect for hot-weather use
This jacket is much cooler than a solid suit. I may add zipper pulls for easier operation with gloves, but the X-Large fits my 6' frame comfortably. The gloves supplied are good quality but not vented, so I’ll keep them as backups for cooler days.

Solid jacket after extended use
I waited over a year to write this and it's held up impressively. I’m rough on gear and there isn’t a single tear in the mesh or shell. The elastic and zipper still work well. I used to wear a cotton suit that let stings through and caused overheating; this ventilated jacket has kept me sting-free and noticeably cooler. Matches the performance of other triple-mesh options I’ve tried.

Great fit, minor zipper worry
Overall it fits well and the elastics at waist and cuffs work nicely to keep bees out. My only concern is the metal zipper feels a bit thin and could wear if exposed to moisture, so I plan to lubricate it with beeswax. The veil arrived slightly deformed but straightened after stuffing it for a few days. Very pleased for the value.

Good fit, quality looks solid
I’m about 5'5" and 130 lb; the small fits perfectly. The brass zippers and vented fabric appear to be good quality. I haven’t worked hives in it yet, but as a fit and build it seems great—especially compared with older, non-vented suits that made me sweat.

Outstanding for defensive hives
I’ve tried several brands, and this jacket is the best for aggressive bees. It’s thicker without being heavy, so bees can’t sting through. Thumb straps prevent sleeve ride-up, which fixed my wrist-sting problems. The veil keeps insects off the nose and ears. I’ll keep using it.

Comfortable and efficient design
New to beekeeping, I bought a heavy cotton jacket then realized I’d overheat. This vented jacket is surprisingly sturdy yet cool. I’m 5'10" and 180 lb; the large fits well with room to spare. I’ll keep both jackets for seasonal use. Happy with the product and the company.

Secure, comfortable, just right
As a new beekeeper with an allergy, I wanted dependable protection. I’m 6'3" and around 300–325 lb; the 3XL fits perfectly with room for a hoodie underneath. The three-layer design feels secure but lets even a small breeze cool you. The removable veil and heavy-duty zippers are great extras. Very happy with this purchase.
