Smart Chicken Heat Plate — 200W Coop Heater with Temp Sensor
Product description
Smart temperature control and safety
This 200W radiant heat panel has an integrated temperature sensor that varies output to maintain the temperature you select. That automatic modulation reduces the chance of overheating while providing steady warmth for feeding, resting and laying. The control offers a wide span from 70°F up to 190°F so it can be used from brooding through to adult-coop heating.
Design, materials and sizes
The heater measures 16 × 11 × 1.2 inches and is built from a metal heating core with a removable anti-dirt plastic top cover. It includes four adjustable legs (for standing use), two drywall anchors (25 mm) and two M5 × 20 mm screws for wall mounting. The top cover discourages chicks from climbing and makes cleaning simpler.
How it’s used
Lay the plate flat over a brooder for chicks, raising the legs or lowering them as youngsters grow. When birds are mature, switch to upright standing mode or wall-mount the panel to warm a coop wall or corner. It heats up quickly and works with external timers or temperature controllers for automated schedules (timers/controllers not included).

Simple dial and easy adjustments
I prefer the dial so I feel in control of temperature rather than guessing. Height adjustments are straightforward and cleaning is easy. The plastic cover was a bit reluctant to stay snapped on at first but functions fine overall.

Good when it works; returned a few faulty units
These heaters vary—some I received had thermostat issues, but returns were handled within the window. The ones I kept have worked flawlessly. They’re simple to operate and clean and large enough for around 15 chicks up to six weeks.

Stood up to Alberta winters with help
Used this to reduce winter chill and it worked well until temps dropped to about -30°C, when we added backup heat. No frostbite issues, humidity improved, and we liked it so much we ordered a second. Had a faulty plug once but support replaced it quickly.

Worth paying a bit more for adjustable heat
After researching, I spent more for a model with variable heat. It does fluctuate a little but maintains overall warmth. My chicks prefer it and I like not having a lamp burning constantly. Also useful in extreme winter months as a coop heater where I live.

Unreliable for me; overheating concern
As a new chick keeper I expected consistent performance. It started mildly warm but later felt extremely hot and read higher than expected on my thermometer. I was alarmed and stopped using it until I could confirm safe operation.

Three weeks of solid performance
Been using it indoors for about three weeks in a controlled space. Temperature matched my monitoring thermometers so far. I’ll see how it fares in colder conditions later, but initial results are promising.

Chickens and I approve — handles wild seasonal swings
I keep birds through very variable seasons and this heat plate performs as well as pricier models I’ve owned. It’s great mounted on the coop wall for smaller or moulting hens and very adjustable for brooders. Installed correctly it’s low fire-risk and easy to clean. Height and temperature adjustments work well for both chicks and older birds.

Bought another — consistent for all my chicks
Product impressed me enough to buy a second unit. All 30 chicks were thriving and, 20 weeks on, they continue to do well. Heat stays steady and the build quality is reliable.

Two-in-one unit with reassuring safety features
I picked this because safety was essential while I work long night shifts. The four-legged base is solid and hard to tip, legs adjust as chicks grow, and the thermostat has been dependable. When birds matured I reused it as a wall heater in the coop. Gives me peace of mind when I’m away for long hours.

Great brooder and very easy to clean
Bought for summer hatchings and it has delivered. Keeps chicks cozy, has adjustable positions, stays consistent and responds to outside temps. Chicks climb but the cover wipes clean easily. Very pleased with the brand.

Safe, dependable, and mimics a mother hen
This plate replicates a broody hen well—chicks snuggle under it and seem calm. Much safer than heat lamps, it’s energy efficient and the thermostat lets me gradually lower heat as they grow. It also takes the edge off cold nights in the coop.

Better temperature control and cleaner surface
My first plate had only two settings; this one lets me fine-tune heat as chicks age. The plastic cover discourages top-climbing and wipes clean easily. Adjustable legs mirror other designs but this has superior temperature control and the chicks are very comfortable.
