Milwaukee Fastback Flip Utility Knife (48-22-1901) — 4-Pack
Product description
This listing is for a set of four Milwaukee FASTBACK flip utility knives, model 48-22-1901. Each unit is a folding utility knife that accepts standard utility blades and includes an onboard wire-stripping notch.
The handles are solid metal rather than hollow plastic, giving the knives a durable, heavier feel. Each knife has a spring-steel wire belt clip that can be fitted or removed, and a positive blade lock that secures the blade open or closed for safe handling.
Designed to be pocket-sized and used daily, these knives are intended for tasks such as opening boxes and shipping materials, cutting nylon strapping, and general shop or EDC use. The set provides multiple spares so teams or households can distribute them where needed.
Pros
- Solid metal handle for durability
- Positive open/closed blade lock
- Onboard wire stripping and removable belt clip
Cons
- No onboard spare blade storage
- Higher price than basic models
- Heavier than hollow-handle knives
VerdictDurable, user-friendly folding utility knives built for regular use. The metal-bodied FASTBACK locks open and closed, strips wire, and accepts standard utility blades. They cost more than some options but hold up better for shop, shipping, and everyday carry.

Sturdy metal build, minimal blade play
I replaced a lost one with this four-pack. Solid metal handles are much tougher than hollow designs, and the blade doesn't wobble. Only downside is no extra blade storage onboard.

Better than retractable types
Bought four because they're superior to retractable knives. Should last a long time; nearly perfect in my view.

Secure lock, simple blade swaps — perfect for shipping work
We went through many cutters but keep coming back to these. The blade holds securely yet changes without fuss. When folded the knife can cut nylon strapping, the lock prevents accidental closure, and the removable wire belt clip stays put with my crew. A bit pricier but worth it for heavy daily use; we own dozens now.
