Wall Stud Finder Scanner — 5-in-1 Stud & Wire Detector with HD LCD
Product description
Overview: This handheld wall stud scanner is built around a high-sensitivity micro-sensor chip designed to quickly locate stud edges and centers, detect metal and plumbing, and warn of live AC wiring behind drywall, plaster, floors and ceilings. It’s a 5-in-1 unit with stud, deep, metal, AC/live-wire and center/edge detection modes to suit most household tasks.
Included in the box: one handheld stud finder, one 9V battery pre-installed, a printed user manual, and a small protective pouch for storage. The housing is injection-molded ABS plastic with a soft rubberized grip on the back for steady contact against surfaces.
Physical specs and performance: The unit measures approximately 5.5 x 1.6 x 2.0 inches (L x W x H) and weighs under 8 ounces, making it easy to hold on ladders or walls. Standard stud mode detects through typical drywall depths; deep-scan mode increases detection depth for thicker surfaces or larger concealed objects. Metal scan isolates metal pipes and fasteners, while the AC mode senses live wiring. A bright, backlit LCD shows center/edge markers, battery level and mode selection, and the device also emits audible beeps for confirmation.
How to use: Place the unit flat against the wall and power on; allow it to calibrate on a flat area before sweeping horizontally. Move slowly and mark edge and center indications as shown on the LCD and by the beeps. For better accuracy, re-calibrate before each new search area and use deep-scan mode for thicker walls or when initial scans are inconclusive. Avoid scanning over trim or uneven surfaces for best results.
Safety and applications: This stud finder is intended for hanging TVs, shelving, cabinets, bathroom fixtures, garage racks and decorative items while reducing the risk of drilling into wiring or plumbing. It’s useful for professionals, homeowners and DIY enthusiasts who want a reliable, compact detector for a variety of wall types.

Unreliable readings and false positives
Gave me little confidence. Battery died after one use, and it produced false readings that made locating centers confusing. Not good for risky installs like TV mounts.

Disappointing performance
Struggled to find studs for me — either user error or the unit underperformed. I expected more from a higher-end finder.

Finally stops the guesswork
Used to make too many holes guessing where studs were. This scanner accurately marks edges and center so I can see the full stud path. It also flags live wires. Very simple to operate and a good size for one-handed use.

Saved me time and hassle
Mounted a large TV and dozens of shelves without issue. Multiple depth settings helped across varied wall thicknesses. It’s taken a few drops but still works fine — very dependable for heavy jobs.

Great budget alternative for home projects
Moved into a new house and needed a reliable finder without the high price. It has several modes and after learning proper calibration it worked well for multiple projects. Not fancy, but solid for typical household use.

Accurate once calibrated
My old unit was useless. This one found studs and even showed wiring I needed to avoid. Calibration before each scan is important, which I learned the hard way.

Effective and gentle on walls
Does the job at a fraction of the cost of some brands. Felt backing avoids marks on the wall, unlike my previous unit.
