12-Piece Iron-On Fabric Patch Kit — Cotton Repair Patches (3" x 4.25")
Product description
Package contents: This set contains twelve iron-on fabric patches, each approximately 3" by 4-1/4" (7.5 cm x 10.5 cm). The assortment of brown, beige and khaki shades is intended to coordinate with a variety of garments. Front surface: 100% cotton. Backing: a robust hot-melt adhesive film applied to each patch.
Application: Repairs and embellishments take just minutes with a household iron. Heat the iron to its highest safe setting for the fabric you are repairing, position the patch where desired and press firmly with the iron for about 60 seconds. The adhesive is designed to hold without additional sewing or fabric glue. Important: only use a proper iron for activation — do not try hair straighteners or other heat tools.
Inside or outside placement: These patches may be applied to the outer surface for visible reinforcement or decoration. They can also be positioned from the inside of a garment so the shiny adhesive faces out through a hole; after several washes the glossy residue diminishes and the repair looks like regular fabric. Patches can be trimmed with scissors or a cutting machine to fit a custom shape or size.
Care and durability: Once applied, patches withstand machine washing at high temperatures and may be tumble dried on a hot setting. If edges start to lift after laundering, simply reapply heat with an iron — each patch can typically be re-ironed multiple times, at least three. When pressing, give special attention to corners, seat, knee and seam areas to reduce curling or fraying.
Uses and precautions: Use these patches to repair or reinforce knees, elbows, crotch areas, pockets, sheets, car upholstery, socks and more. Placing a patch inside a weak spot before damage appears helps extend a garment’s life. Always check the care label of the item you are repairing to ensure it tolerates the highest iron temperature required for bonding.
Pros
- Ready-to-use adhesive backing
- Durable cotton surface that matches neutrals
- Machine washable and re-ironable
Cons
- Requires fabric that tolerates high heat
- Shiny adhesive may be visible until washed
- May need touch-up ironing after heavy use
VerdictA handy kit for mending or styling garments quickly. The cotton fronts blend into neutral clothing, while the factory-applied hot-melt backing bonds with a hot iron for a fast fix. Patches tolerate machine washing and can be re-secured by re-ironing. Best for fabrics that withstand high iron temperatures; take care with corners and high-wear seams. Great value for prolonging workwear, casual cloth

Promising so far
Application was easy and they’ve survived several washes. I’ll report back if any peel occurs, but they seem worthwhile.

Works well — wish quantity matched uses
They hold up nicely as knee patches and the colors match well. My only gripe is the odd number for matching pairs when used on knees or elbows.

Saved a favorite sweater
I put these on the elbows of a beloved sweater. Application was straightforward using the included directions. It’s only been washed once so far, so long-term hold is still to be seen.

Held but needed re-iron after wash
They worked but the edges lifted after laundering; a quick re-iron put them back. I noticed a slight discoloration nearby, though I had used bleach on the garment beforehand.
