High-Grip Non-Slip Rug Pad — 3x5 Cream Rug Underlay
Product description
Original non-adhesive design with a two-way grip that holds the pad to both the floor and the rug. The textured faces cling without sticky residue, so the pad can be repositioned and will not damage finish on hardwood, tile or vinyl.
Open-grid construction lets moisture evaporate and allows air flow beneath your rug, reducing the chance of trapped moisture and protecting floor surfaces. The pad is reversible and works with both backed and unbacked rugs; it’s also safe to vacuum over.
Made from durable, rubber-like materials that provide cushioning underfoot. The thickness delivers added comfort and helps dampen everyday noise in busy rooms, while resisting compression for long-term performance.
Available in common sizes for straightforward placement; this version measures 3 feet by 5 feet. It can be trimmed with scissors to match irregular shapes or smaller rugs — pull gently for tension while cutting to get a clean edge.
Installation is simple: clean the floor surface first, place the pad with the textured sides oriented to meet the rug and floor, and make sure corners lay flat. For optimal hold, press corners and edges fully under the rug.
Pros
- Strong dual-sided non-adhesive grip
- Breathable open-grid protects floors
- Trim-to-fit and reversible
Cons
- May require trimming for smaller rugs
- Can be a bit stiff to cut on narrow edges
- Not as grippy to rug backing on rare occasions
VerdictA reliable, dual-sided rug pad that stays put beneath many types of area rugs, including those with rubber backing. It offers firm traction on hard surfaces, breathable open-grid protection for floors, and enough cushioning to soften footsteps. Easy to trim and repositionable, it’s a practical choice for high-traffic rooms, bathrooms and basements where sliding and bunching are problems.

Great for unbacked cotton rugs
My 5x7 cotton rug has stayed perfectly in place even with heavy traffic. The pad trimmed easily and the light weight made installation simple. Exactly what I needed.

Good choice for damp or basement floors
The open weave is ideal for damp environments and basements. It grips well and keeps rugs from shifting. Good value.

Finally stopped my rubber-backed bath rug from sliding
My large bathroom rug used to slide constantly. Corner grippers didn’t work because of the rubber backing, so I tried this pad. It holds the rug firmly now — very pleased and would recommend for rubber-backed rugs.

Secure hold, safer footing
Great option for stubborn rugs on tile. It prevents unwanted movement and improves safety on slick floors.

Keeps the kids’ play rug in place
Excellent grip — our daughter’s play rug used to shove and bunch up with the foam couch nearby, but since adding this pad it stays put. Thick, durable, easy to cut to shape, and no smell. Highly satisfied.

Does the job, but narrower than I expected
Performs as advertised on the floor, but the pad felt a bit narrow under my rug and didn’t adhere to the rug’s underside as strongly as I hoped. I’ve been readjusting it often and may stitch it down.

Strong grip but trimming takes effort
Placed these under bathroom rugs — they grip firmly and lie flat. They were slightly larger than my rugs and trimming the stretchy edge required pulling for tension, which was fiddly but doable. Still worth it.

Perfect for the entry rug
Just what I needed to keep the mat at my front door flat and secure. Works as expected and I’d recommend it.

Long-term hold with a few tips
I tried other grippers that slipped out from under rugs, but these have remained put for months. Clean the floor first, press corners well, and trim carefully for the best, long-lasting hold.

Best solution after several tries
This was my third attempt after tape and other pads. It finally stopped the rug from moving, adds cushion, and doesn’t ride up — very effective.
