Card Centering & Grading Kit for Trading Cards — 30x Loupe
Product description
Purpose-built for card collectors: This kit was developed for people who collect Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering (MTG) and Digimon (DTCG) cards, allowing precise inspection of centering, corners and edges prior to submission or resale. It’s intended to assist in determining centering percentages and catching small defects that affect grades.
What’s included: The set contains an acrylic centering/measurement tool sized to accommodate standard trading cards (2.5" x 3.5"), a 30x steel magnifying loupe with a compact carrying case, a microfiber cleaning cloth, a printed Centering Percentage card, a Centering Percentage Guide with explanations and tips, and clear step-by-step instructions to help you get started.
Materials and care: The main measuring plate is made from premium acrylic to reduce risks of smearing, staining, creasing or bending during use. The loupe is steel-bodied for durability and fits in the supplied protective pouch for transport. To ensure clarity, remove the thin protective film on the acrylic before first use; one side may ship covered and should become fully transparent once peeled.
How to use it: Place your sleeved or unsleeved standard card on the plate and align edges with the printed guides to observe centering percentages. Use the red alignment lines and the included percentage card to estimate whether a card meets grading thresholds. Employ the 30x loupe to closely inspect corners and edge fraying or print imperfections that aren’t visible to the naked eye.
Standards and accuracy: The tool’s markings correspond with the latest centering guidance published in February 2025 for PSA 10 evaluations, making it suitable for collectors who want to pre-check cards against those centering criteria. While it’s designed to be intuitive, a few users may find the printed lines faint or prefer a higher-power magnifier for very small defects.
Support: If you have questions or encounter any issues, please reach out for assistance. Customer support is available to help you get the most from the kit and ensure satisfaction.
Pros
- Helps measure centering and inspect corners/edges
- Durable acrylic plate with included 30x loupe
- Comes with percentage card and step-by-step guide
Cons
- Included loupe may be underpowered for some users
- Printed alignment lines can be faint in low light
- Protective film on acrylic can be mistaken for damage
VerdictHelps serious collectors and hobbyists evaluate centering, corners and edges with more confidence. The acrylic alignment tool and included centering guide make measurements straightforward, while the 30x loupe aids close inspection. Peel the protective film to avoid thinking the tool is scratched. Some users may find the loupe or printed lines less crisp, but overall it’s a practical all-in-one ki

Build feels flimsy
Construction seems low-quality and the included loupe was disappointing—I bought a separate magnifier.

Remove the protective film
It's not scratched — there's a peel-off protective film on the acrylic. Take it off before judging condition.

Best of the three I own
I have two other centering tools; this one performs best overall. The red guide lines can be hard to see at times.

Very frustrating to use
I couldn't make sense of it despite watching tutorials. It reported a borderline result on a clearly off-center card, so I lost trust in it. Not useful for me.

Film removal is key
Finally a Pokémon-focused grader that’s intuitive. The generic tools never lined up for me. If the tool looks cloudy, check the removable film—only one side ships covered. I did notice a couple tiny scuffs on the exposed side but it didn't affect use. Works fine with cards in penny sleeves.
