Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV900BSS) — Countertop Convection Oven
Product description
The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV900BSS) is a stainless-steel countertop convection oven designed to handle a wide range of kitchen tasks: toasting, baking, roasting, air frying and dehydrating.
Element iQ system: Five independent quartz heating elements work with smart algorithms to distribute power where and when it’s needed. The oven uses sensing and digital PID temperature control to reduce cold spots and keep temperatures consistent throughout the cavity.
Air fry and dehydrate: The air fry function pairs higher cooking temperatures with super convection to produce crispy results without a deep fryer. The dehydrating mode can run up to four trays at once, suitable for fruits, jerky and herbs. The oven’s two-speed convection fan (regular and super) increases hot-air circulation for faster, more even browning during air frying, dehydration and roasting.
Cooking functions and controls: Thirteen built-in functions include Toast, Bagel, Broil, Bake, Roast, Warm, Pizza, Proof, Air Fry, Reheat, Cookies, Slow Cook and Dehydrate. An LCD display shows presets, indicates when preheat is complete and automatically counts down cooking time for precise results.
Interior capacity and materials: The interior measures roughly 16 x 13.5 x 7 inches, large enough for nine bread slices, a 14 lb turkey, a Dutch oven up to 5 quarts, most 9 x 13 inch pans and 12-cup muffin tins. The outer finish is brushed stainless steel; several components are serviceable and replaceable like a conventional oven.
Lighting and accessories: An internal oven light turns on at the end of a cycle and can be switched on anytime to check progress. Included accessories are a 13-inch pizza pan, two oven racks, a 9 x 13 inch broil rack with enamel roasting pan and a mesh basket/rack suitable for air frying and dehydrating.
Power and warranty: Rated at 1800 watts and 120 volts, the oven ships with a two-year limited product warranty.

Daily favorite — especially in warm months
Excellent buy. I use it every day and it keeps the kitchen cooler in summer. It does many tasks well and the air fry tray is easy to clean. Highly recommend for frequent use.

Solid build and great first impressions
Only had it a day but already impressed. Feels well-made and sturdy. Used mainly for air frying; food cooked evenly, crisply, and the unit is quieter than my previous fryer. The internal space is generous. If durability matches the feel, it will be worth the cost.

A kitchen game-changer — I actually enjoy cooking again
This oven outperforms several pricier convection models I tried. The presets are excellent starting points and are easy to tweak. It’s not the cheapest, but the size, versatility and consistent results make it worth the investment. It’s made meal prep simple enough that I cook dishes I’d previously avoided.

Air fryer — perfect!
Perfect for air frying. Very satisfied with results.

Disappointing reliability after initial issues
Updated review: downgraded to one star after persistent failures. The oven sometimes stalls after preheat, reverting to the home screen and not starting the cook countdown; it then requires a full restart. After multiple faults I sought a refund through my card and returned it. Original impression: bought in October and was underwhelmed by some performance quirks, but the recurring shutdowns were the final straw.

Two-plus years in and I still reach for it daily
At first I hesitated due to size and cost, but after 2.5 years it’s become my go-to. It toasts perfectly and handles almost everything I used to put in the full-size oven, freeing that oven for bulky cookware. It preheats fast, cooks evenly and makes checking progress simple. Worth it for someone who wants a reliable, multi-use countertop oven.

Huge and capable — but watch open-box purchases
This thing is big and genuinely useful, though be careful buying open-box units. My first arrived with a damaged quartz sleeve on the lower coil, so I returned it and had a replacement quickly. It runs well without heating the whole kitchen and looks great on the counter. Make sure you have room for it.

Excellent oven, but warranty support was frustrating
The oven itself performs wonderfully with no operational complaints. The headache was getting warranty service — customer support and service centers were difficult to reach and communications dragged on. Update: I eventually managed to process the warranty and received a brand-new replacement oven.

Perfect for tiny-home living — high quality and accurate heat
We use this oven as our primary cooker in a tiny home and it’s been the best purchase for that lifestyle. The door seals well, temperature control is accurate, and it’s straightforward to set up. Quality stands out as soon as you unpack it. It fits our Dutch oven with lid and maintains even temps, though it reminds you to rotate food for best results.

Bigger, quieter, and a clear upgrade from our old model
Replaced a BOV800XL that lasted a decade. This unit fits our counter and doesn’t overheat the cabinet above. It runs quieter than the old fan and has two fans that feel more refined. Dimensions: about 21.5" wide, 15" deep (17.25" with handle), and roughly 12.4" high (12.75" with handle). Pictures show the size difference versus the older model. Overall, a very satisfying replacement.

Precision control for roasting and artisan bread
I chose this for the air fry and dehydrate features and because of solid ratings. I’ve tried toast, bagel, bake, air fry and roast: a 6-lb chicken roasted evenly and stayed juicy; par-baked European bread finished with a superb crust and tender crumb. The bagel setting is great for buns needing one-sided extra browning. Very pleased so far.
