ARTME Metallic Acrylic Paints — 6 Metallic Shades in 4 oz Bottles
Product description
This set contains six shimmering metallic acrylics: Gold, Silver, Copper, Pearl White, Brass and Bronze. Each color is supplied in a 4 oz (about 118 ml) bottle, giving you ample volume for both broad coverage and fine decorative work.
The pigments are blended to produce a glossy metallic sheen that resists fading. The medium flows smoothly for easy brushing and spreads well for even coverage; when layered it deepens in luster. The formula is water-based and non-toxic, meeting ASTM D-4236 and EN71 safety standards.
To prepare a surface, remove dust, grease or oils and ensure the area is clean and dry. Shake or stir each bottle before use to redistribute any settled pigment. Apply thin, even coats and allow each layer to dry completely before adding another to achieve richer, more reflective results.
These metallic acrylics adhere to a wide variety of substrates, including wood, glass, plastic, metal, stone, ceramic and primed canvas. The dried finish is smudge-resistant and weather-tolerant, making it suitable for indoor accents and many outdoor decorative projects when used on properly prepped surfaces.
For best results, avoid contaminating lids (they are sealed when shipped) and reseal containers tightly after use to prevent skinning. Because the paints are fluid, they work well with brushes, sponges, and some stenciling techniques, though very heavy-bodied additives may affect adhesion and finish.

Generous bottles with secure seals
I chose this set for experimenting with metal-look finishes. The 4 oz size is much more useful than tiny bottles. At first the lids felt loose, but each bottle had a hermetic seal under the cap. There’s no foam liner, so re-close carefully to avoid drying. Most hues have a slight whitish tint in the bottle, likely to boost brightness.

Attractive color range
Nice, vivid colors and easy to apply. Simple and effective for small projects.

Excellent metallic coverage and rich shine
I often struggled with metallics that needed many coats, but these covered very well. I tested them on sealed wood and used two coats for most colors; Copper, Brass, Gold and Bronze were almost opaque in one. Pearl White and Silver needed the extra layer for depth. The texture is creamy and applies smoothly; containers were sealed tightly on arrival.

Solid set — lots of paint and good reflectivity
These are thinner than tube artist paints but flow beautifully and blend well. On watercolor paper a single brush stroke showed around 60% opacity; wood needed two coats. Hues are true and not color-shifted. Finish is near glossy after layering and reflects light nicely. Plenty of paint in jars, and the packaging is user-friendly.

Real metallic finish, not dull or chalky
Many metallics go flat when dry but these keep their shine, especially gold and bronze. Coverage is good on light surfaces; darker backgrounds usually need two coats. The mix is smooth and not gritty, and it adheres well to wood, canvas and ceramics. Non-toxic formula is a plus for projects around kids.

Useful palette and ample bottle sizes
The six colors cover common metallic needs and 4 oz bottles give plenty to work with. They spread evenly for a pleasing metallic sheen; some shades require two thin coats for even depth. Pigments settle, so mix well before use. Works best on cleaned and primed surfaces and mixes easily to create intermediate tones.

Nice pigments and usable on fabric and shells
This six-pack is easy to handle and good for painting bags, fabric details, and seashells. Expect two coats for the richest effect; the paint is already fluid so thinning isn’t necessary unless you want a wash. Cleans up with soap and water, dries quickly, and handles like other craft acrylics. I did find one bottle where the vacuum seal had been compromised.

Great for accents, less for full canvas work
I tried these on canvas for an abstract scene and the paints worked better as highlights than for full coverage. The colors are lovely and shimmery; the fluid consistency spreads easily and the shimmer stays suspended. No strong odor and brushes rinse clean, though it takes extra rinsing to remove the metallic sheen. They don’t mix well with thick modeling pastes.
