2‑Pack Heavy‑Duty 5‑Tier Garage Shelving Units — 36"W x 16"D x 72"H
Product description
This listing supplies two complete freestanding shelving units, each with five tiers. Every rack measures 36 inches wide by 16 inches deep and stands 72 inches tall. The set gives you ten usable shelves in all, allowing you to place both racks side-by-side for one large storage area or separate them across rooms like a garage, pantry, workshop, basement or utility closet.
Each unit is rated to support up to 2,400 pounds in total, with an approximate per-tier capacity of 480 pounds when loads are distributed evenly. The shelving surface is 5mm MDF, and a metal support rod sits beneath each board to transfer load into the steel frame rather than relying on the board alone. This flat surface keeps bins, boxes, pantry goods, toolboxes and jars from slipping through gaps that wire shelving can create.
Shelves are adjustable: you can reposition each tier to fit tall containers or create closer spacing for smaller items. The tall frame can also be separated into two shorter units, offering flexible placement under windows, beside benches or along different walls.
The frame uses 1.4mm rolled-edge steel posts to add rigidity and reduce flex under load; the rolled profile also softens contact with exposed edges while handling. A powder-coated finish helps resist everyday scuffs and keeps the black frame looking uniform. These racks are suited for home garages and basements as well as stockrooms, classrooms and other facility storage areas.
Assembly uses an interlocking design that requires no nuts or bolts: beams slot into uprights and are seated with the included hammer. The kit comes with cotton gloves and step-by-step instructions to simplify setup. While most people can put a unit together quickly, a rubber mallet or heavier tool will make it easier to fully seat metal struts for maximum strength.
Pros
- High load capacity—2,400 lbs per unit when evenly loaded
- Adjustable tiers and modular design; tall units can split into two
- Quick interlocking assembly with included gloves and instructions
Cons
- Shelf boards are thin MDF and may need reinforcement under very heavy concentrated loads
- Some metal crossbars can flex or bend during assembly
- Included mini hammer is undersized for fully seating the metal pieces
VerdictThese twin 5-tier racks are a strong, versatile solution for moving bins, tools and household supplies off the floor. When fully assembled the units are impressively rigid and can take heavy loads, thanks to the metal support rod beneath each 5mm MDF shelf and the 1.4mm rolled-edge steel uprights. The boards themselves are thin and some metal crossbars can flex during assembly, so plan to use a ru

Okay for tote storage; parts unlabeled
Parts aren’t labeled which made sorting before assembly tricky. Vertical posts are sturdy but some horizontal pieces feel flimsy. It’s smaller than I expected but will hold at least four large totes. Decent for basic storage needs.

Easy install with proper mallet
Super simple to put together if you have a real mallet. I’ll definitely buy more—works exactly as advertised.

Good pantry solution; boards feel thin
Using these in my basement pantry. They seemed a bit flimsy out of the box but are solid once built. Mini hammers are included but a full-size mallet makes assembly much easier. The ability to split into two units and adjust shelves is handy. I’ll likely swap the MDF boards later for sturdier panels, but they’re a great value right now.

Thoughtful design and solid construction
The manufacturer included cotton gloves, a small mallet, wall anchor hardware and clear instructions. A mid-shelf support and additional end caps make the design more robust and flexible. I chose the taller configuration and four fit perfectly in my boiler room. The black finish is sleek, the uprights lock together securely, and the MDF boards have mitered corners for easier placement—just be aware the shelf boards are relatively thin.

Built for heavy use and organization
Clear instructions and snug connections make these feel reliable. They handle bins, tools and boxes without complaint, and the overall look tidies up my garage instantly. Versatile and practical for someone who wants strong shelving without complicated hardware.

Mixed assembly experiences
My first two racks were a breeze and solid. A later single order from the same maker had bars that seemed weaker and bent more easily during installation, so quality can vary between batches. Still functional when assembled properly, but be careful tapping the pieces into place.

Very sturdy — using as a room divider
I’ve bought multiple sets and they’re surprisingly strong once assembled. They stack into taller units but also work as two shorter racks. I put my full weight on one and it didn’t budge. The materials look modest out of the box, but the completed racks perform well. For heavy loads like paper reams and paint I added furring strips underneath those shelves just to prevent any long-term bowing.

Great shelves — bring the right mallet
I built three of these for my garage in about two hours total. The powder-coated finish looks durable and the completed units hold a lot. The thin metal crossbars can bend easily, so the assembled frame provides most of the strength. The kit’s tiny plastic hammer is ineffective; the included cotton gloves are a nice touch, but for proper assembly a weighted rubber mallet is my recommendation to fully seat the metal pieces.
