Handmade in the United States by local woodworkers using time-honored joinery and finishing methods, this board brings artisanal craftsmanship to the home kitchen. Constructed from North American hard maple, the end-grain build presents the grain ends to the blade so knives glide into the wood rather than slicing across fibers—minimizing visible cut marks and helping the surface 'self-heal' over time.
This model measures approximately 17" long by 13" wide and is a full 1.75" thick, weighing about 10 pounds. The extra thickness improves stability and reduces the likelihood of cracks or warping compared with thinner boards. Deep, routed finger grips on both short ends make lifting and moving the board easier, and a pronounced juice groove around the perimeter catches runoff from roasts and large fruits.
Four rubber feet on the underside keep the board planted during heavy chopping, while also permitting air circulation beneath the block. The surface is finished with a food-safe mineral oil so the board ships pre-conditioned and ready for immediate use. To maintain it, hand wash with warm soapy water and dry with a towel—do not run through a dishwasher or soak. Periodic application of a wood conditioner (a tin of which is offered when you register) will keep the wood healthy and help prevent drying.
Each board is shipped tucked inside a premium gift box suitable for presenting at occasions such as weddings, housewarmings or holidays. The maker offers North American-based customer support for questions, returns, or warranty service, and a limited five-year warranty covers manufacturing defects when properly cared for.

Almost too pretty to use — heirloom quality
I agonized over getting an end-grain board but finally bought this and was blown away by the size, weight and finish. It’s beautiful enough to display, yet sturdy enough to carve a turkey. Keep it oiled and it cleans easily. The deep groove and non-skid feet are excellent; I’d buy another as a gift.

Exactly the board we wanted

Warped and split after a month
We liked our first board so much we bought another, but the second warped and split while washing even though it wasn’t soaked. I had been applying conditioner regularly. It’s disappointing after loving the boards until now.

Stunning, solid, and worth the research
This board is gorgeous and hefty — exactly what I wanted as I shift away from plastic. After researching woods and makers I chose a maple end-grain and I’m very happy. It feels high quality and I haven’t seen any knife marks with sharp German knives. The beveled juice channel is handy for wet produce. We don’t use it for meat, but it handles dense fruits and squash well and doesn’t seem to hold garlic or onion odors.
