These Homemade Crispy Fries are everything you want in the good side dish, crispy, golden brown on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside (thanks to a special cooking method)and seasoned just right.
Whether you're serving them on their own or pairing with your favorite meal, they're easy to make, extra crispy, and guaranteed to disappear fast, especially alongside fun fair-style bites like Korean-style crispy corn dogs.

Why These Crispy Fries Work So Well?
Getting Crispy Fries this crispy isn't luck, it's technique. The secret lies in the chilling method: the potatoes are soaked in ice water to remove excess starch, then briefly boiled and chilled again. This double-cooling process helps them stay fluffy on the inside while crisping beautifully on the outside.
When they hit the hot oil, the result is golden, crunchy fries with a soft, pillowy center. It's the kind of texture you only get with care, and once you try it, you'll never go back!
My favourite thing to have alongside this is our Sticky Thai Chicken Wings or if we're feeling something a bit lighter we opt for our Honey Mustard Chicken Salad With Bacon & Avocado
Ingredients

The secret to these Crispy Fries lies in the quality of the ingredients.
- Potatoes: Choose starchy or all-purpose potatoes for that good crispy exterior and fluffy inside. These are the base that holds all the flavors together.
- Parsley: Fresh parsley brightens the dish with a hint of herbal freshness.
- Salt & Pepper: Of course, a staple with any fries

On the stove
There are a lot of Crispy Fries Recipe but many of them leave you with soggy, oven baked sad looking fries but, just like how our Sausage Rolls taste similar to a bakery, it's surprisingly easy to make this at home to the same quality for game day!

- Prep the Potatoes: Peel the potatoes, Place them in ice water, let chill for 30 minutes. Soaking in ice water pulls surface starch off the potatoes. This prevents them from sticking together and helps them crisp up when fried.

- Cook the Potatoes: now cut the potatoes in thin strips, put them into a pot of boiling water with salt, cook the potatoes for 5 minutes. Immediately transfer them back into ice water to stop the cooking. Once cooled, place them in the freezer to chill.

- Fry the Potatoes: Deep-fry in oilat 350°F (175°C) until they float and are golden (about 10-15 minutes). Then remove and place on plate with paper towel to drain

- Serve! Grab a bowl and top your Crispy Fries with salt and pepper or chicken salt

Crispy Fries FAQ's
Why Do You Double-Chill The FriesThis technique helps create contrast: soft inside, crispy outside. The rapid cooling also prevents overcooking and gives structure before frying.
Can we Use Frozen Fries Instead Of Fresh Potatoes?Yes! While fresh potatoes give you a reliable texture and flavor, high-quality frozen fries are a great shortcut. Just make sure to bake or fry them until super crispy before topping.
Can we Fry Straight From Raw Without Boiling First?Yes, but they'll be less fluffy inside and might take longer to cook. The two-step (boil + fry) method gives Crispy Fries a reliable texture.
