Retractable Non-Sag Clothesline — Heavy-Duty Wall-Mounted, 13.8 ft
Product description
What’s included and how it looks: The unit comes as a ready-to-mount retractable housing containing the preloaded stainless-steel line, plus a separate receiver bracket and basic mounting hardware. The casing is molded ABS and the fixed mounting plate is aluminum, designed to resist water, rust and sun exposure so it can be used indoors or outdoors.
Length and capacity: The line extends to 13.8 feet of usable drying length and is rated to carry up to about 40 pounds. That gives room for shirts, towels, jeans and some small blankets or quilts when hung with care.
Anti-sag and tensioning: This design features a locking catch together with a rotatable tension adjuster. When heavier loads cause slack, engage the lock and twist the tensioner to take up slack and tighten the line to a firmer state—intended to reduce sag compared with simpler retractables.
Materials and durability: The housing is high-quality ABS plastic, paired with an aluminum mounting base and a stainless-steel line with a protective outer coating. Those materials provide waterproofing and corrosion resistance for exposed locations.
Mounting options and usage: You can attach it with adhesive mounts on smooth surfaces (tile, glass, marble) to avoid drilling, or use screw/anchor mounting for a permanent installation on wood or masonry. Pull the line out, latch it into the receiver hook to use, then release and let it retract for storage when finished. Be mindful of the locking step when detaching the line so it doesn’t retract unexpectedly.
Pros
- Non-sag design with lock and tensioner
- Extends to 13.8 ft and supports up to 40 lb
- Compact housing for neat storage
Cons
- Included plastic anchors may not grip well in thin drywall
- Plastic locking parts could show wear over long term
- Over-tightening mount can affect retract function
VerdictA versatile retractable laundry line that gives a long, stowable drying span without taking up space. The anti-sag system (lock plus twist tensioner) and stainless-steel cord make it suitable for regular household loads up to 40 lb. Best for patios, balconies, laundry rooms and other compact spots; note anchors and some plastic parts may need reinforcement for heavy or thin-wall installs.

Works perfectly — a good, dependable item.

Great clothesline — performs well and holds securely.

Instructions led to misalignment
Used the provided measurements and ended up inches off. The instructions weren’t clear and hangers still slid toward a sag—only OK for draping damp items. Disappointed.

Good design but weak drywall anchors
Well designed overall, but the supplied drywall anchors have smooth sides and tend to spin. I replaced them with better anchors.

Easy for one person to install
Simple to fit by myself at 76 after reading the guide. I installed it on my porch and the ~20 lb limit has been fine so far.

Sturdy setup on porch posts
Mounted between two porch posts on wood—installation was straightforward. The steel cable with plastic coating feels solid. Place the receiver roughly ½" higher than the spool. So far it works well; time will tell about the plastic lock.

Great for compact spaces
Perfect for tight areas. It was a bit tricky to snap onto the bracket during mounting, but I really like having it.

Handy and space-saving
Very useful: pull out when needed and stow away after. Holds many wet shirts; I keep it in my laundry room.

Holds heavy items if not overloaded
Installed easily and can handle blankets and jeans when not overloaded. Warning: if you detach without unlocking first the line can snap back like a tape measure.

Works, but not as taut as advertised
Does the job but in my experience didn’t reach the claimed tautness under load. Also, fully tightening the mounting brace can stop the retract feature, forcing manual rewinds.
